Conjugating Chasser in French
When you want to say to hunt or to chase in French, use the verbà chasser. This is pretty straightforward because it looks and sounds a lot like the English chase. You will find that conjugatingà chasserà is relatively easy as well. Conjugating the French Verbà Chasser Chasserà is aà regular -ER verbà and that means we can use the most common verb conjugation pattern. If you learn how to transform this word to the appropriate tense, it makes similar words likeà cesserà (to stop) andà brà »lerà (to burn)à a little easier to learn. Conjugating is as simple as recognizing the stem -- in this case,à chassà -- and adding the appropriate ending. For theà jeà (I) present tense, its as simple as an -eà and for the futureà je, it will be -erai. Unlike English, French requires you to match the subject pronoun with the tense. In English, hunting applies no matter if youre talking about I, you, or we, but in French, each subject requires a different ending. The chart will help you learn these forms: I hunt is je chasse and we will hunt is nous chasserons. Subject Present Future Imperfect je chasse chasserai chassais tu chasses chasseras chassais il chasse chassera chassait nous chassons chasserons chassions vous chassez chasserez chassiez ils chassent chasseront chassaient The Present Participle ofà Chasser Using the stem ofà chasser, add the ending -antà and you have theà present participleà chassant. This is a verbà but can be used as an adjective, gerund, or noun as well. The Passà © Composà © and Past Participle Aà common way to express the past tense in French is theà passà © composà ©. To use this, conjugate theà auxiliary verbà avoirà to match the subject, then add theà past participleà chassà ©. For example, I chased is jai chassà © and we hunted is nous avons chassà ©. Moreà Chasserà Conjugations to Know In less frequent instances, you may find a use for the following conjugations. The subjunctive and conditional are used when there is uncertainty to the verb and these are used quite often. In contrast, the passà © simple and imperfect subjunctive are rare and found primarily in literature. In the least, you should be able to recognize each of these. Subject Subjunctive Conditional Passà © Simple Imperfect Subjunctive je chasse chasserais chassai chassasse tu chasses chasserais chassas chassasses il chasse chasserait chassa chassà ¢t nous chassions chasserions chassà ¢mes chassassions vous chassiez chasseriez chassà ¢tes chassassiez ils chassent chasseraient chassà ¨rent chassassent To useà chasserà in an exclamation and quickly request or demand something be hunted, use the imperative. When doing so, its perfectly acceptable to skip the subject pronoun and say only the verb: chasse rather thanà tu chasse. Imperative (tu) chasse (nous) chassons (vous) chassez

Positive And Negative Impacts Of Children Essay - 1603 Words
As a human being, we cannot escape the fact that everything around us; friends, families, societies, and environments; affects our self-development. These influence may vary among different people, depending on several characteristics they hold such as age, education level, personal background and experiences, and many more. Among these, age is one of the strongest characteristics in a person that determine whether something can leave a deep imprint into the individual or not. Someone at a young age: children, will be multiple times more prone to be affected by their surroundings compared to someone older due to the fact that children are at a stage where they are critically developing the sense of who they are and where they can fit into the society. Positive atmosphere can help in developing a child with positive mentality and attitude, which is a gift for the future generation, whereas a bad influence at such a young age can create an obnoxious, negative character in the future. O ne form of influence that children cannot run from is racial stereotypes. The racial stereotypes in this context refers to the common idea the societies get when they see a specific racial group. This essay will be discussing the relationship between the stereotypes and childrenââ¬â¢s development, in addition to the future effects of exposing children to this stereotypes. Almost Sisters free essay sample
I couldnââ¬â¢t keep my feet from fidgeting as I sat in the back seat of the car awaiting our arrival at the airport. The two hour drive seemed like ten. I was so anxious to meet the girl who had been the center of almost every conversation for the past few weeks. Everyone was so eager to know everything about the girl who would soon become my new sister for the next year. I reflected back to the night when my parents asked what I thought about hosting a foreign exchange student. We had had an exchange student four years before, and I hadnââ¬â¢t minded having another brother around. I actually enjoyed hearing stories about his life in Venezuela. After a short period of contemplation, I agreed to the idea of hosting another. After all, one more brother among the three preexisting ones couldnââ¬â¢t be so bad, but my parents werenââ¬â¢t exactly on the same page as I was. We will write a custom essay sample on Almost Sisters or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I had wanted a sister when I was younger, but as a freshman in high school, it had been awhile since the thought had crossed my mind. I had been the only girl all my life, and I wasnââ¬â¢t enthusiastic about the idea of changing that now. I tried to convince my parents that a boy would be more what they wanted and that they wouldnââ¬â¢t want another girl around the house, but they insisted that a male exchange student just wasnââ¬â¢t an option. After careful deliberation, I reluctantly decided to give it shot. The next few weeks were spent getting everything prepared for the infamous newcomer. From interviews to paperwork, it all seemed so pointless. We cleared the room that was once my oldest brotherââ¬â¢s and made it suitable for a teenage girl. My brother was now doomed to the couch on his sparse visits home. The time went by quickly and before I knew it, it was the day before the beginning of what I projected to be the longest year of my life. By the time we got home with Vartushick, or simply ââ¬Å"Vâ⬠as we learned to call her, I was already beginning to like her. There was something about her inviting smile that let me know that we were going to have a good time. Throughout the weeks leading up to the new school year, I introduced her to friends and classmates that we ran into around town. When school finally started, I made it my personal responsibility to show her to her classes and make sure she didnââ¬â¢t get lost. Having a sister wasnââ¬â¢t as bad as I had anticipated, in fact, it was actually somewhat fun. The first month or two was full of ruts in the road. Although she knew some English, there was still a big language barrier that made it difficult to understand each other. We became easily frustrated with one another as I attempted to teach her simple tasks such as sweeping and using the washing machine. There were times when I felt like she would never learn, but despite our disagreements, we eventually became as close as real sisters. The year went by much quicker than I expected, and soon, it was time for V to go back to Armenia. I was disinclined to let her go, but I knew she missed her family back home. I realized how important it had been to persevere through our struggles. If I had simply given up, like I had so often wanted to do, we both would have had a miserable year, but I hadnââ¬â¢t, and it brought an extraordinary friendship.

Influence Of Attendance Class Performance -Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss About The Influence Of Attendance Class Performance? Answer: Introduction The aim of the study is to argue that good attendance is a key factor in success at university For this purpose, two studies have been chosen one that examines the rate of performance and attendance of the students in a biology students and another on nursing students. Background sentence from the literature According to Moore (2006) the GPA (Grade Point Averages) of the first semester students and the rate of class attendance in the second-semester have correlation with the academic performance of the student. It is found that students who have shown poor class performance are the ones who are not regular with their attendance (as cited in McCarey, Barr Rattray, 2007 p. 363). It is also found that poor performance in classroom is related to the overall classroom performance of the student and hence, an important individual predictor of performance. Students who have shown poor performance in the first year continue with such performance throughout the course of the academic curricu lum. The study by McCarey, Barr and Rattray (2007) is significant as it provides an understanding regarding the importance of attendance, how it should be viewed and managed. However, this study does not examine the causes for absenteeism (p.363). The inclusion of the reasons would make this study more refined and effective. It is assumed that poor performance in academics is an outcome of stress experienced by the students due to their inability of coping with the demanding academic curriculum. A Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing is arduous and complex for the students. Claim paraphrased cited The study conducted by Moore (2006) show that students in their initial year at college are a better position because in their GPA of the first year has implications on their future academic performances. Students who are regular with their attendance have greater chance of securing better GPAs as compared to students who are not regular with their attendance (p. 113). According to a study by Timmins and Kaliszer prolonged period of academic year, physically and emotionally demanding nature of clinical placements and the continuous pressure for better academic performance (cited in Mc/carey, Barr Rattray (2007). Stress is believed to be a strong reason for the poor performance in class. Explanation by the writer (not cited) Studies have shown that class attendance has a positive impact on the learning abilities even in the age of technology. This may be attributed to the fact that class attendance provides an opportunity for clarification on the materials provided and thereby work on the materials (Alexander and Hicks, 2015). Linking sentence by the writer Another study by Ahmad et al. (2017) demonstrated that there is a positive effect on students who regularly attend the class. Students with regular attendance in class generally have positive effect since they get benefit from having better examination results, higher self concept, higher standardized test scores and educational attainment (Ahmad et al. 2017). Elaboration cited by the literature (quoted cited) Therefore, it can be concluded that there is correlation between class performance and attendance. However, studies should be conducted on the reasons of low attendance among students. Concluding link by the writer References Ahmad, M., Rahman, F. N., Shawon, M. M. I., Ali, M. (2017). Effect of Class Attendance on Medical Student's Academic Performance-An Observational Study. Faridpur Medical College Journal, 12(2), 58-63. Alexander, V., Hicks, R. E. (2015). Wealthy Barber Essays - Mutual Fund, Mutualism, Stock Market
Wealthy Barber Money is easy to make as long as you have a job, however what do you do when you have the money is another question. This is a question I have asked myself ever since I got my first part time job. Many people don't realize that your money can make you more money, through proper investment. Through this strategy you can not only live comfortably now, but you can live a wealthy retirement and enjoy your later years. One of tips which caught my eye the most was the chapter, entitled, Ten Percent Solution. This chapter seemed to make sense to me as I am on a limited budget with a minimum wage job. I am one of the fortunate students how somehow can balance school with a part time job. I do this because it allows me some freedoms while at school, such as eating well, socializing and trips to visit friends. I also seem to have a bit of money left over which I leave sitting in my low interest bank account. It is this money I am hoping to save for when I am done school and to begin my OSAP payments. Until reading the book, The Wealthy Barber, I never really had an idea of what to do with my money. Since I am also one of those students who is lucky enough to have a loan through OSAP, I figured I'd better start saving or making money as it is stated. I am currently saving money in a GIC account at a bank which has a mediocre interest rate of approximately 4%. However, if I invest in something such as a mutual fund for long term growth I will get a better interest rate and end up making more money without doing anything. The nice thing about both the GIC and the mutual fund is that they use the compound interest which allows your money to grow at a very rapid rate, as you will slowly start making money on the previous interest deposits as well as your own deposits which you make. However to gain significant interest growth you must have something at a reasonable interest rate. This book has really inspired me to do the research and start doing this. The whole idea of this novel is to save money now and you will live better in the future, such as when we retire. This is a great idea for all people, especially students as we will see better results as we are still young and can use compound interest to our benefit. Many students at all ages don't do this, in fact haven't even thought about doing this. It does sound unreasonable and a little out of our league at present times. Especially since we are paying tuition, books and the dreaded OSAP. However, if you think about it maybe it's not such a bad idea. Ten percent of most students part time job pay check is only about $30 - $40 a month or $360 or more a year. If a good interest rate of about 15% is found through a mutual fund and this is saved for 40 years or so, there is a really good chance that we will be millionaires when we take it out after 40 years. We may even have more that a million dollars after that because being students at a university we should all receive fairly well paying jobs. The more we make the more we will be investing, as the ten percent of our pay check will get bigger. So as we slowly get older our payments towards our future will get a little bigger and then the compound interest will grow on that. One of the biggest tips I found about this whole investment advice was the fact that you should shop around. There are many possibilities out there other than mutual funds. At my age real estate doesn't sound like a good choice, but it shouldn't be ruled out. In my case it would almost be a good idea as I am already married and am looking for a house. Since paying rent and paying a mortgage would almost be the

Introduction to Law and Contracts Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Introduction to Law and Contracts - Essay Example An agreement that is binding to one party and at the option of the other party is a voidable contract. For a contract to be valid, the objective must be legal. An objective can be unlawful if the law forbids it, it is fraudulent, and the court considers it to be immoral or against public policy. Agreements opposed to public policy can be banned by law to protect the public interests (Walston-Dunham, 2009). Acts that are contrary to public policy are void. Some of the acts considered to be against public policy include transacting with an enemy country and interfering with the administration of justice. The law of the contract is based on the doctrine of equity and substance of common law. Among its main elements are offer, acceptance, lawful consideration, capacity to contract, intention to create a legal relationship, capacity to contract, legal formalities, lawful objects possibility of performance, and, not expressly, the declared void. In this scenario, Chappelle is the defendant while on the other hand; Mustafa, who is his former manager, is the plaintiff. Chappell who is an actor and a comedian is sued for breach of contract. Chappelle and Mustafa entered into a management agreement on September 2005. Moreover, the two parties did not reduce their contract in writings, and for this, it is an oral agreement. By this, the defendant can deny the allegations charged against him because there is no evidence of the agreement passed. Mustafa is now suing Chappelle for stiffing him over $864,500, and is therefore, seeking monetary compensation. On the other hand, Chappelle claims that Mustafaââ¬â¢s incompetency made him lose millions of dollar (Abramovitch, 2005). In this case, the presence of witnesses may be assistive in proving the legality of the contract. However, every contract has its terms and condition, and if one party breaches this, then they should face the consequences. In Chappelleââ¬â¢s case, terminating Mustafaââ¬â¢s

Chi-Globalization Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Chi-Globalization - Term Paper Example Chi globalization encompasses the creation of a society with various specific features such as pragmatism, inter-culturalism and multiculturalism. This concept is basically a demonstration of a process that involves chinaââ¬â¢s engagement in the diverse aspects of civilization and development of globalization. Concerns revolve around the creation of globally enlightened world with the aim of facilitating and enhancing the lives of people from the point of view of a Eurocentric model. Chi globalization can be viewed as being both intercultural and bicultural. From the bicultural viewpoint it basically has its foundation on the emergence of the Chinese model that followed from chinaââ¬â¢s fusion with western and eastern cultures (Killion, 2006, p.45). The fusion of the different cultures has its origin from the opium war which took place in the 1850ââ¬â¢s. In this case chi globalization occupies quite an integral part in the history as well as the current state of china in rel ation civilization and development (Alon, Ilan and John 2008, p.37). A study of what drove forth towards the existence of Chi globalization indicates that Anglobalization is a major factor. On the other hand Chi globalization being understood as being something that is intercultural two processes are involved. The first process presents that it is an opportunity created for china to open and embrace other cultures form other people. The second process demonstrates that chi globalization is involves the identification and incorporation of other cultures into the Chinese culture for instance the African culture, Latin American culture among others. An in-depth analysis of chi globalization presents some unique factors that have played quite a major role in its development. The globalization of America forms an important in this discussion. This is due to the fact it is the fundamental basis in which chi globalization grew out of. In connection to this the United States has acted as a model for china from the economic, cultural and social perspectives. Most aspects of civilization and development in china have simply been a reflection of what is happening in the United States (Veeck, Pannell, Smith and Huang 2007, p.60) For years America has been a major consumer of china made goods providing a reliable market even when the state is hit by a financial crisis such as the Wall Street crisis. On the same not America has had interest and created ties with china through engagement in foreign direct investment. Most of the ideas and strategies that have been used to drive chinaââ¬â¢s development have sourced from the United States thus making America a major source inspiration for the state of china. Up to this point on the higher side the American dream is in a way the dream for china. Therefore china has some fundamental values similar to those understood to facilitate the development of globalization in the United States. Such values include the free flow of both ideas and information and free flow of capital and goods. Despite Chi globalization borrowing a lot from Ameriglobalization and Anglobalization there are some unique values that make it differ in a way. This is due to the fact that it highly relates more to the culture in china. Increased identification with the world of Ameriglobalization and Anglobalization makes the way of life for the Chinese people a global model aimed at fostering development that fits the

Strength of the electromagnet
Strength of the electromagnet Aim: To investigate how different factors affect the strength of the electromagnet. Introduction: There are totally two factors that I am going to investigate in this experiment: m F1: How the number of coils affects the strength of the electromagnet. m F2: How a change in current affects the strength of an electromagnet. Hypothesis: m F1: I think as the number of coils increase the strength of the electromagnet would also increase. m F2: I think as the current increases the strength of the electromagnet would also increase. Variables: m F1: * Independent: Number of coils. * Dependent: Distance at which compass needle deflects.(+/-0.05 cm) Ã · Constants: Current, diameter of the wire, temperature, same iron core. m F2: * Independent: Current (+/-0.01amps) Ã · Dependent: Distance at which compass needle deflects.(+/-0.05 cm) Ã · Constants: Number of coils, diameter of the wire, temperature, same iron core. Apparatus: * Power Supply * Ammeter (Ã ±0.01amps) * Electromagnets with different number of coils * Plastic Ruler (Ã ±0.05cm) * Plotting Compass * Crocodile clip wires * Rheostat Procedure: Ã · Using crocodile clips connect the circuit in the following way: Ã · F1: Ã § Take an iron nail and with the help of a nichrome wire, coil it around the nail 5 times. Ã § Switch the circuit on and wait for a minute. Ã § Note down the constant current. Ã § Take the plotting compass and steadily place it close to the electromagnet and slide it away in a straight line till the needle deflects slightly to one side from its vertically straight position. Ã § Place a ruler from the north pole of the electromagnet and note the distance where this deflection occurs. This where the magnetic field lines would approximately end, and hence more the distance more the field lines and greater the strength. Ã § Repeat the steps above but with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 coils. Ã § For the same number of coils measure the distance of deflection 2 times for a second trial. Ã · F2: Ã § Using the same circuit now adjust the variable resistor so that u have a current of 0.5amps flowing through the circuit. Ã § Make the constant number of coils to be 10 coils. Ã § Take the plotting compass and steadily place it close to the electromagnet and slide it away in a straight line till the needle deflects slightly to one side from its vertically straight position. F1: Effect of the number of coils on the strength of the electromagnet. Number of Coils of electromagnet Average Distance of deflection from North Pole of the magnet(+/-0.05cm) 5 1.8 10 5 15 7.55 20 9.5 25 12.2 30 14.9 35 17.05 Constant Current 0.75 A F2: How changing current affects the distance at which the needle deflects. Current (+/-0.01A) Average Distance from North Pole of the magnet (+/-0.05cm) 0.5 1.25 1.0 2.95 1.5 4.60 2.0 6.25 2.5 7.95 3.0 9.40 3.5 10.75 4.0 11.70 4.5 12.20 5.0 12.75 5.5 12.80 Constant number of coils 10 Now I will plot the graphs of both these averages. Graph Analysis: (Graph at the End) F1: As you can see the graph is proportionate. As the number of coils increases the strength of the electromagnet also increases. There is a positive co-relation and this can be proved by theory as well. As the number of coils increase, the magnetic field of each coil also increases and hence a larger magnetic field would cause the electromagnet to be stronger. There is only one anomaly in our results at 20 coils and this can be neglected as it is a very minor anomaly. F2: In this graph also we notice that there is a positive co-relationship and hence the current is proportionate to the strength of the magnet. As current in a circuit increases the strength of the magnet would also increase as the coil is provided with more charge and hence the field lines would be spread over a larger area and the strength would be larger. But in this graph after 4.0 amps the graph is no longer proportionate. This can be due to the large amount of heat generated in the wires causing more resistance and the value of current would have changed and hence the curve in the graph. Conclusion: Our hypothesis for both the factors was proven right by our graphs. Strength of an electromagnet is proportionate to the current and the number of coils in the solenoid. As the number of coils increase the area of the magnetic field lines also increases hence a stronger electromagnet is produced. It is the same for an increase in current. But after a certain current it becomes tough to maintain other constant factors like temperature which might cause inaccurate results. Evaluation: Ã · We could have taken more trials to get better results. Ã · We could have used an insulated wire so that the wire wont heat up so fast and it wouldnt have changed our results. Ã · The current wasnt always exact. It kept fluctuating hence it may have given inaccurate readings. Ã · The exact distance where the needle turned would be very tough to find out as it turns over a range of distance hence that may have given inaccurate results. Fair Test: * The distance between the coils was kept the same in all the trials. * For the first experiment we kept the current constant so that we can fairly compare the results. * For the second experiment we kept the number of coils the same so that we can fairly compare the results. * And for both the experiments we kept the same material of the core and the wire. Safe Test: Ã · As it was dealing with electricity we made sure we did not touch any open ends to prevent ourselves from getting a shock. Ã · Also we did not touch the wire right after the experiment was over as it may have been quite hot.

Failure Turned Into Success
Brandon Miller John Delano ITM 1900 February 5, 2013 Failure turned into Success I failed many projects at work, some larger than others. One project that I failed was when I had to refill the push mower with oil. I almost made my first mistake by choosing the wrong type of oil for the mower, but luckily was smart to call my boss and choose the correct oil. My first mistake was to not to listen to what my boss said and clean off the dipstick before I started to refill the oil tank.By not doing this, I did not know the specific amount to how much to add. This mistake leads into my second mistake of adding too much oil to the mower. These two mistakes ruined the mower and costing the company to buy a new push mower. I could and should have done many things different to avoid this problem. The main thing that I should have done different is to ask someone to help guide me through the process of adding oil instead of teaching the process to myself, which ultimately cost the company more money.I, as a Christian project manager, should have many standards to evaluating software development projects. When evaluating, I should ask to myself whether the project is honoring to God. When I say that, I mean is the project representing the way Christians live their lives for Christ. Is the project appropriate to God and acceptable for anyone to accomplish? In 1 Thessalonians 4, it talks about urging or pushing believers to live a life pleasing to God. Then it goes on to talk specifically about the life believers should be living. The way that I am told to be living my life should also be displayed in the projects that I create. The projects should be an encouragement to others when they use it and should help to benefit otherââ¬â¢s lives. This project also should be an example to how believers live their lives. 1 Timothy 4:12 helps encourage that mindset by talking about how believers should set an example for others in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Overall, w hen evaluating projects, they should be pleasing to the Lord, be an example, and influence others positively when using them.Basing my mistakes on the standards by which to live by, my project would still be considered a failure. It would be a failure because I did not listen to my boss, which is disobedience and that is not pleasing to the Lord. Ruining a mower is not a good example to my other work colleagues either. I should have been smarter in the way I handled the project and thought about how to have the project run efficient and productive. My disobedience resulted in failure of the whole project and making the companyââ¬â¢s reputation increase negatively.Moses would probably say that about 45% of the plan was completed on time. The percentage is not very high because of the Israelites causing problems with their attitudes and doubts on God. Also, the Israelites did not have much faith in Moses leading them and this caused many problems in trying to get the plan completed . From Mosesââ¬â¢ perspective, I think he would say that the journey to Mount Sinai and getting the Ten Commandments written was completed late because of the actions of the Israelites.Since the Israelites became impatient with Moses and making a golden calf, it slowed down the entire process of getting the Ten Commandments written. Moses could have taught Aaron stronger principles in keeping Godââ¬â¢s people under control while he was at Mount Sinai. If Aaron was stronger and not so willing to make false gods, the process of the Ten Commandments being written would have been completed quicker. Impact of e-commerce strategies on Easyjet Sales The WritePass Journal
Impact of e-commerce strategies on Easyjet Sales Introduction: Impact of e-commerce strategies on Easyjet Sales Introduction:Approaches focussed:Divisions of approaches and applies: Merits and demerits of approaches:ConclusionReferenceRelated Introduction: Easy jet is an European airline which was launched in 1995 by its founder Greekcy Priotà Stelios Haji-Loannou. It was started with two wet leased Boeing like 737-200 aircrafts and today it operates 196 aircrafts with 20 buses all over around the Europe. It carried 45.2 million passengers in the year of 2009 which made it as a second largest low cost European airline behind Ryanair. In 2002, Easy jet bought London Stansted based Go airline à £ 374 million (easy-jet.com). Go was the low cost scheduled passenger airline which provides service within the Europe. The main reason behind this acquisition was profitable and established airline with strong growing aspects that reveals a year to year increase of 232 per cent. Nearly 90% of sales in Easy jet are online from this website. There are two significant features based on its success are: low price and E- commerce strategies .The purpose of this Easy jetââ¬Ës, online the presence of informationââ¬â¢s and procedures to sketch and propose suggestion on the progression involved in creating a booming online presence( David Cynthia1999). Apart from this it will define its approaches for its significant success of industry. In this paper, we will first discuss about the approaches and it applies. Then based on PESETEL framework we will find out the reason for applying. And in final the merits and demerits approaches in order to discuss about the alternatives approaches for easy jet. The above figure shows out about the airlines point which tells the increasing and decreasing of online analysis. As airline industry it was first an upstart one which later tipped to be failed later (Johnson, Scholes Whittington 2008). An online pamphlet website is debatably best than anything. For instance, to attain more profit many organizations presence the society, community, discussion and contented into Easy jet online website [1]Camerer, C, (1985),. No wonder that, easy jet online sales strategy has made a significant success. Based on this success strategy we will see the two main approaches which are used in this research are: internal company and external company. This approaches precepts more preparation, planning and ideas with precise and clear understanding to reach the perfect goals of company strategy. In order to bud a better online sales we need to concentrate in certain task like forecasting, ease of steering, a well-built reception, implementing text with suitab ility for web, advertising , testing and accessing the goal forà success way. Approaches focussed: For example, the internalities of company can be focussed in terms by (i) Direct sales approach (ii) website designs and merges. Whereasà the externalities of companies like (i) density (ii) attraction of point to point networks towards consumers (iii) increasing in confidentiality and (iv) strong intense towards brand and advertising. Based on the above approaches we can define the following aspects into ten divisions. Divisions of approaches and applies: First of all Easy jet concepts is to provide a low fare for the route and optimise the saving cost methods. This is the main advantages for the easy jet in terms of comparison with other competitors because it does not consists of any luxury acts in terms of high class seat and all it just provides everything in a simple pricing structure. For example, if you book the tickets earlier you need to pay less. This attracts the consumers in terms of gaining a sensible price( Tony Morden 1993). Secondly, selling the tickets in online reduces the customers to get rid of from the counter because they are booking the tickets through email. So just an confirmation number is needed on screen, so that more complex issues in fulfilment of sales to distribution or warehouse, logistics to worry about the sale that had happened (Pritchard, 2002). Thirdly, Easy jet does not utilize outsourcing approach as it applies a direct sales strategy. For example, the customers directly pay with the payments so no commissions and intermediaries problems in terms of extra pay so that, the increases in sale of internet pay will be more than before at the same time. Fourthly, the website designs are appropriate. For example, it is mentioned in the case study that orange colour is necessary for the convenience of customers. This can avoid the wrong booking date and spell by the customers in rather terms of implying the correct low cost ticket( Pritchard , 2002); instead of high design the website mainly focuses on the speed and simplicity so that , they can efficiently provide good services to the customers. The below figure tells the seat rates when the customers books ticket earlier. These are also efficient in customer service. Fifthly, Easy jet pushes out the sales percentage of an internet penetration through the way of carrots and sticks. Carrot means to attract the customers in the guise of discounts and inventory which were booked in a online. Stick means to restrict the flights available to customers on a phone which applies a simple price structure. The more the early they book the less will the cost for the tickets. This provides a milestone like millions seats which were sold online to attract the consumer. à Sixthly, the customers confidences are increased when they book in the online it ensure the security to the data. This reaches the high brand in terms of awareness with consumers and supported by innovative advertising ( Easy jet 2002) . To ensure such type of the security we have to store the customer data in a web platform (Pritchard, 2002). à Seventhly, Easy jet applies to the Microsoft technologies which are more convenient, affordable, ease and focusing resources on a single skill to support the business need. Eighthly, Easy jet merged with go and working on full support in order to jump it as a transaction volume. It applies a great stress and capacity planning to ensure its ready in terms of volume (Pritchard 2002). Ninthly ,According to Easy jet annual report of 2002/2003 it utilise the dense point to pint the network with link major airports with an large attachments areas , so it remains in high level frequency for business and leisure travellers. In this consumers will be more for online booking. Finally, Easy Jet is busy working on intranet projects discussion forums, feedback forms, so the senior managers know about staffââ¬â¢s intensity (Pritchard, 2002). This approach makes employee relations in an effective way and void industrial action (e.g. Cabin Crew strikes) and interrupted operations. Over view of PESTEL analysis: Political factors: it decides the deregulation of European flight market in 1997, theResult for this is any airline can operate any route within the European Union. Before, the market for flight was largely controlled by the governments of European countries, trying to secure their respective national carriers market share (Geiger et al., 2009). According to The Times, the development of freedom of movement and trade in the European Union has led to greater levels of completion on European routes coupled with increased movement of people. These enable Easy Jet to offer the route between any point in the European Union. For example the countries like Iraq with an unstable political Environment may cause restrictions and the uncertainty of air travellers; the United Kingdom and European countries have a stable political environment. Economic factors: Back to 1998 the Easy Jet applied E- commerce strategy, as the world economy grew and the development of global economy, the demand of air travels increased rapidly. But the cost of fuel has increased recent years, therefore efficient financial management of fuel reserves including trading with options and futures is getting more and more important to keep cost down and be competitive in the market place. And because the global economy recession, the air travel is affected, but on the other hand easy Jet focus on Low cost strategy which became attractive to travellers. Social factors: Lifestyle, tastes and fashions are all changing; customers require opportunities to visit new and interesting, haul, destination (Oxford IS, 2010).Because of this economy recession the number of unemployment has increased and the bargaining power as an employer has increased. So low fare air travel has a significant travellers. So it is important to ensure customer comfortableness. Technological factors: There are two main technology issues involved: modern aircraft and Internet technology. According to the Times, modern aircraft are safer and economic to run in cheap as possible. With the development of Internet, airlines can easily realize direct Sale approach, and also it takes benefits to both customers and the company. For the customers, it would be efficient and easy to purchase the tickets and confirm through email. In same time we can book hotels and other things. As a result, it improves the customer satisfaction in terms of convenience. Environment factors: The company needs to pay attention to the noise pollution control and energy consumption control that required by the government, and it may increase the operation cost. Consumers are becoming aware of the environmental impact of their actions (British Airway, 2009) and it started to get increase among them. So the failure of adopting a protect environment strategy may affect the company income and reputation. Legal factors: According to Open Skies Agreement (AEA, 2009), it provides the opportunity for airlines freely transport between the European Union and the Unite State. It increases the opportunity for easy Jet to expense the network and attract more travellers. The recognition of trade unions and industrial action (e.g. Cabin Crew strikes) is an important issue the company needs to pay attention to. So it is necessary for the company to know the feeling of staffs to remain good employee relations. Through the PESTEL analysis we can find that the approaches of Easy Jet has used in the creation of online sale which are suitable for the vision of the company. This develops the strength of largest low cost airline in European country (Easy Jet, 2003). Merits and demerits of approaches: Figure 1 and 2 illustrates the financial performance of Easy Jet since 2000 to 2010. The strategies applied have made a positive impaction on the sales and the number of passengersââ¬â¢ increases every year, especially in 2003 after merging with Go. I think there are five main advantages by applying the approaches: more customers, customer satisfaction, wider geography, high efficiency and cost saving. Through the low strategy planning the Easy jet wins in terms of quality. To access the online booking of Easy jet it is very simple and also customer can book hotel and transport through this website while booking the tickets. It offers a better and convenient service to customer which can increase the customer satisfaction. As Easy Jet maximize the using of e-commerce, it enables a wider geography for the tickets that can be booked online.. For example, customer can get all the travel information such as time, price, and so on the Internet, so the call centre agent does not need to cover each Item for every customer. It saves the workload of the company and makes more efficient. As this applied for the direct sale approach and the majority sale of tickets is through Internet, the cost for operation is been decreased. It needs not to be re-located to a larger facility .Through these approaches we have made a big success but there are some disadvantages which needs to pay attention like offer of low fare tickets, fuel prices increase, and this will affect the profit from the increased fuel costs. As we know, 90% of sales are generated from its website, so Internet and information system play a very important roles for the sale. It will be a disaster if the system crash or customers cannot access Internet, as the company would face big loss and impact the reputation of company. To void such disadvantages, the alternative approach is to reinforce the distributors to balance the ticket sale approaches. Instead of direct sale and sale most of the tickets through Internet, Easy jet can apply outsourcing strategy to corporate with intermediaries. With a balance tick ets sale system, the risk and loss will be minimized when the internet system does not work. Conclusion Thus from the above case study and analysis we conclude thatà Easy Jet has become one of the largest low cost airlines in Europe with 90% sale online. And through this case study, we can also notice that information system has a significant impact on the process of strategy management. Based on the case study, we can conclude that there are three aspects that information system affects strategic management: reach new customers, Easy Jet applied online ticket sail which helps to reach wider geography customers. The business information is processed efficiently and lower cost for the operation change the industry structure, the fast and accurate information can affect the industry structure, especially when high information content is required. For instance, the information system does not need to establish new call centres for the increasing sale. So the provision of effective information system is therefore an important part of the corporate strategic task (Lynch, 2006). Hate crimes should not be puni essays
Hate crimes should not be puni essays How to maintain a strong relationship How to Maintain a Strong Relationship I have been in a relationship with a guy for almost two years. I know two years is not really that long, but it has been a true learning experience. Every relationship has its ups and downs and its good and bad times. Looking at other relationships, I have observed that to maintain a strong relationship you have to recognize if certain characteristics have been acquired. Goals, love, and trust are the key to building a strong relationship. Every day I think of a new goal for myself to accomplish. I have my goals set out for me for the future. When you are in a relationship, asking your partner what his/her goals are is a very good thing. You need to know so that you dont find out five years later that he is moving to live in the mountains and fish all day, while your goal was to live in the big city and work at a law firm. People that will do some good in your life are people who maybe share similar goals and people who have set some goals. Love is the infamous word that can mean a million things. As time ticks on in a relationship you will start to realize if you love him/her. Can you tell if this person will be all that you want out of love? Make sure that this topic has been discussed. When discussing this topic see if your partner loves the conversation or is waiting to run away from it. Trust can tear your heart to pieces. If you are in a relationship trust has to definitely be there. If you have any doubts about him/her going out with their friends one night then the trust is not there. Trust is the most important part of the relationship next to love. If you cant maintain trust through your relationship, then your relationship doesnt need to exist. Set goals for your relationship, discover if there is love and make sure you can trust one another. There are so many key points in maintaining a strong relationship. Pick th ...

Joan of Arc Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Joan of Arc - Essay Example (Lowell 28) From this time onward she received regular visitations from the archangel, and from Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret, who told her that her purpose was simply to help France. For several years she did not speak of the visions. It was only when they became more specific about what they wanted her to do that she was required to speak in order to establish her mission. From this is it obvious that her visions were not simply a method of attention-seeking, as she was in no hurry to reveal their existence until it was absolutely necessary. She lived with the voices for several years without acting upon what they told her, and was reluctant to speak of them at all. (Lowell 30) Perhaps this modesty was one way in which her authority became believable. One of the reasons Joan of Arc has become a legendary figure is that, as a French peasant girl she was able to gain the backing of the French king, and command the respect and obedience of an entire army. In 1428 the voices began to give her more specific instructions, and as a result she eventually gained an audience with Charles VII of France. (Hodges 2000) At this time, the influence of Charles VII had been steadily weakening, and this perhaps was a major factor in his decision to trust in her. Even if this is true, it is still impressive that she was able to command such influence over the French army. It is said that the Commanders of the army "supported her mostly because she was willing to aggressively fight the English, unlike the lethargic and distracted Royal Court". (Williamson 2003) Perhaps she was, initially, so firmly supported partially by default rather than due to any particular faith in her. Joan's main focus was the spiritual life of the army, and she may have bee n more a source of inspiration than of military tactics. (Williamson 2003) There are a number of cited instances where Joan herself appeared to have knowledge of events that had not yet occurred, or simply knowledge that she should have had no way of knowing. There are so many such stories that they have become part of an enduring legend that strengthens the image of Joan of Arc as divinely inspired. The fact that she was canonized after death only serves to enhance this image. The first such stories are about the incidents which enabled her to gain an audience with the Charles VII. She first went to Lord Robert de Baudricot, a garrison commander stationed near her village of Domremy, to request an escort to the king. Having previously sent her away twice, he fulfilled her third request after she accurately predicted a French defeat at Rouvray near Orleans. Next, she gained an audience with Charles VII, and he began to take her seriously after she related to him the details of a private prayer he had made several months earlier, in which he had asked God t o aid his cause. (Williamson 2003) There are many such incidents in history - Joan of Arc is said to have predicted numerous battles in which she took part, including that outside of Paris where she herself was wounded. (Williamson 2003) In matters of faith it is impossible to determine truth. One either believes, or does not. Because of this, one can say that truth is not the important factor in faith - what is relevant is the belief. In

Business Growth Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Business Growth - Essay Example For an investor, growth is an investment style which looks for stocks with high earnings and revenue growth. Business growth can also be understood as any firm generating essential positive cash earnings or flows and that flow increases at faster rate than the general economy. Definitions and Business Platform The term platform is used in various different situations. Earlier the term platform was used as a synonym of operating system. However, today it has a wider meaning and is used to describe variety of situations. Business platform is a method which creates an environment of integration to accelerate approach of operation towards partners and customers. The business platform reduces the gap between the operations, partners and customers and brings them closer. Reducing the gap between these three important elements enables the business to perform efficiently and properly which leads to reduce cost of production and increase customer satisfaction. For growth of any type of busine ss customer satisfaction is very important and essential as todayââ¬â¢s economy is a customer oriented economy ands not product oriented (Zook, & Allen, 2001) . The business platform not only brings these three vital elements closer but also finds efficiencies and unlocks innovations from every part of the business. Business platforms have number of characteristics in common. Platforms are open to everyone and can be put up easily. Even though, platforms can be commercial or non commercial no one needs to take permission or pay money before building up a business platform. Platforms magnetize builderââ¬â¢s community, in order to increase these communities; these communities should be taken care of and managed properly. Building community helps in building the business more efficiently as because of the community one get help of suppliers, customers and partners. It removes barriers and makes flow efficient by giving the option of self-service access. Platforms do not different iate between large and small builders. Some platforms allow participation of small builders in the competition and these businesses sometimes even disturb present businesses. It is a two way contract between builders, who utilizes the platform and the platform provider, who offers the platform services to builders. Sometimes it has been seen that platform assist unexpected conclusions. Platform is a good thing when managed properly. We experienced in our project that platforms are very important to make people aware of our product. Platforms can be easily understood as Marketing. For our project we took help of different platforms like we announce about our project in mosque, stick posters on the walls of mosque, send direct marketing emails and text friend to pass this message. Below given are the stages, which a business goes through It has been observed that fast growing companies are disordered places to work. With the expansion of work and business, things or strategies which h ad worked well in past, start weakening and add no help. People and teams get flooded with workload and with the expansion of business, same managers who were very efficient earlier start committing mistakes with their expand area of control. Because of increase work load systems start collapsing (Burke, & Barrow, 2008). Growth is pleasure when everything goes right however it is even more stressful when things happen incorrectly. Using Accelerated Learning Approach in teaching English; teaching Essay
Using Accelerated Learning Approach in teaching English; teaching foreign elementary students how to write good grammatical sentences - Essay Example The accelerated learning techniques include ââ¬Å"relaxation and concentration techniques (such as those originally part of Suggestopedia)â⬠that ââ¬Å"can greatly alleviate stress and fatigue and improve studentââ¬â¢s confidence, concentration and memorization capabilitiesâ⬠(Bancroft, 1995). Bancroft identified the techniques that are found to be effective; relaxation and visualization exercises, TPR strategies, choral chanting and role-playing for regular language classes and listening to relaxation tapes, specially prepared vocabulary tape for home study. All these exercises involves preliminary trainings such as ââ¬Å"physical and mental exercises, breathing exercises, outer and inner concentration (or visualization) exercises, the Sophrology memory training system and as adaptation of the original session in Suggestopediaâ⬠(Bancroft, 1995). The author believes that it is the studentââ¬â¢s concentration which is in dire need of attention. With this realization, the yogic memory training elements should be incorporated into the language class whenever possible. This will be most effective is done together with elements of communication-based or language-acquisition approaches. European Films & An Analysis Essay Example for Free
European Films An Analysis Essay Films are products of culture. It is a culture woven into a piece of art. Films are like mirrors reflecting certain cultures, and these cultures in turn, are also affected back by these films in which they relate to. In fact, film is considered as one great type of art because of its effectiveness in influencing its audience or film viewers. It is therefore very important to be careful of what should be shown to the viewers though films because of the possible effects that it can do to the public, a social entity that is reemerging from the film with a well-defined historical and contemporary roles and functions. This public is where the film audiences also came from and, audience, is the group where the film is appealing to, influencing them, their thoughts, their ideas and their beliefs as they see their own culture unfolds before them in front of the screen through the motion pictures. It is actually difficult to visualize an instituted and strengthened public/national identity without reinforcement between or among those who are sharing this national identity. The role of films therefore is to relay the information back to those individuals with shared identity, values, culture and many other things in ââ¬Å"their sense of common cultural memory or mutual belongingâ⬠1 according to David Forgacs, stated in the book of Ricci. With this high sensibility to the public, more often than not, governments take some, or even much, precautions before allowing some release of films by regulating them or, sometimes, governments take advantage of the films to promote their national goals through the encouragement of some themes in them in exchange to some benefits and privileges given to filmmakers. II. Major European Nations and Their Films It is important to understand that films are generally regulated. Some institutions located in a country or region into where the film is based or created, or the culture of that region or area where the film relates to, must also be considered in the creation of that certain film. Films must also be paralleled or must be aligned with the whims of the regulatory bodies controlling them, or else they cannot be approved for public release and viewing. At present day, these regulations are apparent to some directives given by governing bodies such as the European Union (EU) in European countries. Some of the directiveââ¬â¢s provision includes statement such as: â⬠broadcasters reserve for European works the majority proportion of their transmission timeâ⬠2. This is the general directive. Each country however has their respective ways of regulating and directing their own film industries as well as the films that are to be shown in their respective territories, both in the past and presently. In English film industry in the early eightees, before Thatcherââ¬â¢s intervention, it ââ¬Å"had been generally expected that a Labour government would increase state support for film in recognition of its cultural, and not just commercial, worthâ⬠3 (Hill 1996, 101) Another film industry that can be seen as controlled, making the art as a means to encourage national goals, is seen in the French national film industry where there are quotas as to the percentage of European and American/foreign films that may be shown to the public, and this is claimed to be in accordance with cultural preservation of European values. In Italy however, films are freer and without so much restrictions imposed upon their approval and release to the public. In the early 1920ââ¬â¢s Soviet era, foreign films were even utilized for the purpose of its own ââ¬Å"industrys recoveryâ⬠. 4 The following section focuses on major European nations and their national film forms in depth analyses in their institutional context. This includes the English, French and Italian film industries among others. III. Selected European Films in Their Institutional Context As the Second World War approached, it was believed that the film productions in European areas were random. That was history. Today, aside from the umbrella rules of the recent EU Directive, each nation, especially the greater ones, have their own sets of rules and policies, as well as style and culture in their respective film industries. The following are major European countries/areas and how their respective film industries are with respect to institutional context/

Improving Memory Essay -- essays research papers
how to improve memory Mr. Douglas Enclosed in the following are five techniques that you may want to consider using to help you improve your memory. Finding a reason to remember Be selective in about what you learn Organize your information Mnemonics Rehearse information through recitation First, finding a reason to remember is very important. If you have a reason to remember information you just learned, then you have a better chance of holding on to it. For example, letââ¬â¢s say a person has trouble with his/her multiplication tables. And the person loves to lift weights. The teacher would use the information form math and apply it to the weight lifting. Such as 5 x 5=25, and lifting five pounds five time is a total of twenty-five pounds. You see this comparison makes the student learn it better because he/she can use it in more ways than one. This technique has helped me the most when I was learning about percentages in math. I could not quiet get the ha ng of it, so the teacher applied it to how much money would one save if a $50.00 shirt was 20% off. This gave me the motivation to learn it. Second, you should be selective in what you learn. You only want to learn the main ideas and leave the supporting material alone. Doing this should make you memorize the information in a shorter amount of time. For example, if you were trying to study Biology, and there is a lot of it just remember the bold face type ...

Workplace Violence Essay -- Essays Papers
Workplace Violence ââ¬Å"And who has not thought that the impersonal world deserves no better than to be destroyed by one fabulous sign of his displeasure?â⬠(J. Bronowski, The Face of Violence) Workplace violence has become a concern for both public and private companies, and has prompted these companies to implement anti-violence programs. As well they should, for the Bureau of Justice Statistics shows in their Special Report on Workplace Violence, researched by Dr. Greg Warchol , that in each year for the period of 1992 ââ¬â 96 more than 2.2 million residents were victims of violent acts while they were working or on duty. (BJS Special Report, July 1998, NCJ 168634) The most common violent act committed was simple assault with an estimated 1.5 million victimizations each year and then followed by an estimated yearly average of 395,000 aggravated assaults, 51,000 rapes and sexual assaults, 84,000 robberies and 1,000 homicides. A stranger to the victim committed the majority of workplace crime while less than 1% were intimates. Men were more likely to be the perpetrator and or the victim of violence. In the public arena retail workers had the highest rate of robbery and aggravated assault victimization while police and teachers were the most often victimized in the public arena. 20 % of violent incidents in the workplace involved an armed offender of which a firearm was used fewer than 10% of the time. This is that data that faces all employers in every sector and by which they must base their approach to formulate programs that will help create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for both their employees and their clients. Many of the conditions that prevail in todayââ¬â¢s workplace seem to breed critical incidents. Among them are: 1.) Competitive pressures. Relentless global market forces demand constant changes in methods of production and workplace organization. Employees find themselves having to perform in new ways and more efficiently. In addition, privacy has been eroded by electronic surveillance on the job, drug testing and computerized performance monitoring. Abrasive co-workers or autocratic supervisors create additional stresses. The long-term consequences may be overwhelming psychological stress leading to hostility and outbursts of violent or bizarre behavior. 2.) Domestic dysfunction overspill. Family discord, domestic violence, ... ... Workplace violence as you can see, is a problem that plagues us all. With the pressure on everyone to perform, from the man in the ditch to the CEO, its know wonder were having a problem. And both the public and private sectors of business are in a mad dash to stop the violence that is happening. With all the major corporations having either an anti violence program or rules about such behavior, what is the cost to the individual? Will they have to work harder and more efficiently? Will there be more threats and intimidation to perform, to cover the cost of these programs? Or will business see an improvement in the working relations of its employees? With the right people in charge of these programs, there is hope for improvement, but only if business is serious about the problem! You see very little TV coverage of work place violence, unless it extremely violent. Even then there must be a death, or deaths to bring on the sensationalizing that TV needs. Because of this, will business wait for the coverage to demand a solution or will they head it off. When youââ¬â¢re at work, thereââ¬â¢s no reason ââ¬Å"â⬠¦ to be destroyed by one fabulous sign of his displeasureâ⬠. Only time will tell.

Poverty is a state of mind Essay
Even though some people make millions, poverty is still a problem in todayââ¬â¢s society. There is an increasing gap between the wealthiest and the poorest people. This is also a problem in Britain. But is poverty really a state of mind? That is the controversial statement made by freelance writer Bernard Hare who in an essay from 2012 writes about his childhood in poverty in a mining family in Leeds. As an adult, he experiences a different kind of poverty. Bernard Hare was born in 1958 into a poor mining family in Leeds, but he never felt the poverty as a child. His explanation for this is that their house was warm, the neighbors were welcoming, and that he spent a lot of time with his grandmother who lived across the street. Because he did not want to end up in poverty like his parents and also after being encouraged by his grandmother, he got into grammar school and later college. He started to get into fights at stadiums because he supported the football club, Leeds United. He was also arrested on more than one occasion. When Hare got to college, he started to drink and smoke. But he turned it around and became a successful social worker in London until he also had to provide for his father due to mining strikes. After that it all went downhill for Hare. He took drugs, drank, and sold drugs and stolen items. This changed in 1995 when he met the Shed Crew who was a group of 10 to 14 year olds living in an old shed in Hareââ¬â¢s old neighborhood. It put things in perspective and in 1997 he decided to become a writer because he wanted to tell the world the story about the Shed Crew. The final product was a memoir called Urban Grimshaw and the Shed Crew. Hare uses contrasts in this essay to get his point across. First of all, there is the contrast between his childhood life and his adult life and the differences between the two kinds of poverty he has experienced. Secondly, there is the contrast between the poverty he lived in as a child and the poverty he sees with the Shed Crew. Bernard Hare has lived in poverty for the most of his life, but it has been two kinds of poverty. As a child he lived in absolute poverty where there was not always food at the end of the week. His parents drank and smoked occasionally but according to himself he had a good childhood anyway. He was loved and cared for even though the means were limited. However as a young adult, he went down the wrong path which included drugs, drinking, and criminal behavior. There he experienced a different kind of poverty. In aà way, he chose to be poor. As he also says so himself, he was capable of making good money but he chose the criminal way of life. You can take the boy out of poverty, but you canââ¬â¢t take poverty out of the boy. (P 3 ll. 163-164) As previously said, Hare was loved as a child even though they were poor. That is the biggest difference between Hareâ⬠â¢s childhood and the Shed Crewââ¬â¢s childhood. The Shed Crew had nobody to care for them, and they had been let down by society. Nobody is there to take care of them and to make sure that they will get a decent childhood. He uses his own experiences to shed light on how horrible the Shed Crewââ¬â¢s childhood has been. Hare was poor in terms of money but was rich on love and supporting company ââ¬â mostly from his grandmother. However, the Shed Crew is poor both in terms of money, but they are also lacking love and support from responsible adults. They are lacking both in the spiritual and the materialistic way whereas Hareââ¬â¢s childhood was safe and good. Throughout the entire essay, Hare uses a lot of pathos in this essay while reflecting on his life story. He shares little, happy anecdotes from his childhood which are written in a humorous way, and he tries to create a mental picture of his childhood. As the years go by, the stories get darker and darker. There is not as much humor in his teenage and adult stories as there is in the childhood stories. This shows that the childish ignorance has disappeared from his mind and that he is now more aware of what is going on around him. Hare also writes that sometimes the decisions you make can effect whether or not you end up in poverty and more importantly how sometimes your choices in life can prevent you from getting out of poverty. For instance, Hareââ¬â¢s grandmother, who was teetotal, said this to him because his parents drank and smoked. ââ¬Å"Youââ¬â¢ll never have any money if you drink or smokeâ⬠(â⬠¦) I was becoming aware that there might be a self-inflicted element to some peopleââ¬â¢s poverty. (P 2 ll. 93-94, ll. 98-100) Is poverty really just a state of mind? The state of mind of the person in question might be a contributing factor to whether or not that person is in poverty. However, to say that it is exclusively the state of mind is an exaggeration. There are a lot of contributing elements to why people are poor and the mindset of the person could be an important factor. In some cases it is and in other cases itââ¬â¢s just a matter of not having enough money to live. At least, it was a question of a state of mind for Bernard Hare.
